Tom and Jerry history
Tom and Jerry are known to everyone. Here, Tom is a cat and Jerry is a rat, whose grandparents have created this cartoon series with these cats and mice. It was first built at Metro Goldwyn Mayer Studios in Hollywood. Hanna-Barbera Studios is currently producing this popular cartoon series. William Hanna and Joseph Barbera are the main founders of this series.

Tom and Jerry’s history In the late 1930s, Rudolf Metro was part of the Goldwyn Mayer Animation Studio, a popular cartoon series written and directed by Joseph Barbera, a storyteller, and director, and William Hanna, a character designer.
At first, there was a rat-cat cartoon called “Puss Gets the Boot”. The cartoon was completed in 1939 and first appeared in February 1940. The central character was Jasper, a gray-skinned cat trying to catch a rat. But when he broke something to catch the rat, Mami threatened him loudly and threatened to take Jasper out if he broke anything later. It was an unnamed rat. The rat takes this opportunity and tries to break all the fragile things like ceramic plates, teacups, wine glasses so that Mammy Jasper gets out. Meanwhile, Hanna and Barbera continue to manage their other episodes. Many employees of the Metro Goldwyn Mayer animation studio were then heard to ask, “Are there any fewer rat-cat cartoons?” Everyone’s negative perception of this pair of rats and cats changed when the cartoon became popular with theater owners.
Frederick Clinton Quimby, the producer at Metro Goldwyn Mayer Animation Studios, quickly hired Hanna and Barbera from a series of cartoons from the previous episode, to hire a series of rats and cats.
Barbera and Hanna host a new naming contest for the pair. Animator John Carr’s proposed name is “Tom and Jerry”.
Tom has evolved and changed over time. In the early 1940s, Tom’s face was full of hairy fur, eyebrows, and numerous folds on his face. These features were later changed.
The reason for the change was that they wanted to keep Tom modern all the time. Presented as one unique character in the eyes of the audience. However, in the case of Jerry, an unchanging scene can be seen. Jerry remained unchanged throughout the series. The series became more popular in the 1940s, adding more new characters to the cartoon series.
Most of the episodes in this cartoon series show Tom’s tireless efforts to catch Jerry. Let’s look at some of the reasons for this tireless effort:
Tom doesn’t get along with Jerry, so Tom tries to get revenge all the time. Tom has a lot of fun annoying Jerry. Tom takes the help of various terrible plans and evil ways to annoy Jerry. When they both wanted the same thing, they would quarrel. But some episodes were different religions. There were misunderstandings between them in different religious episodes but this misunderstanding created a friendly relationship between them.
After Tom and Jerry became popular, Hanna-Barbera did nothing but Tom and Jerry. Tom and Jerry have spent their entire lives making it. Famous character designer William Hanna died in 2001 and storyteller and director Joseph Barbera died in 2006.
